Booster Classes for Primary School Children

“Don’t worry about your problems with Mathematics, I assure you mine are far greater”.

Albert Einstein.

Maths is a creative and highly interconnected discipline that has been developed over centuries, providing the solution to some of history’s most intriguing problems. It is essential to everyday life, critical to science, technology and engineering, and necessary for financial literacy and most forms of employment. A high-quality mathematics education therefore provides a foundation for understanding the world, the ability to reason mathematically, an appreciation of the beauty and power of mathematics, and a sense of enjoyment and curiosity about the subject.

The Great Circle’s Grade Booster classes are suitable for children in primary school working between National Curriculum Levels 3 & 6. Your child’s school will be able to provide this information if you are unsure.

We teach the core elements of the Mathematics National Curriculum from first principles. It is vital that every child understands the fundamental principles of Number, Algebra, Geometry & Statistics; as this will ultimately determine which GCSE and A-Level courses they are able to undertake in the future. For some children, learning the basic principles can literally mean the difference between them successfully being able to use and apply maths in the real world or risk developing a lifetime phobia of the subject.

We recognise the importance of fundamental maths skills and the vital role they play in our lives. Unlike most tuition schools, we take a fresh approach to teach these key skills. All courses designed by The Great Circle will complement the curriculum at your child’s school as well as provide them with the vital tools they will need in the real world when it comes to using and applying maths.

Content is modular and where possible, we try to keep each class independent of the next. This way children don’t get bored and can attend at anytime throughout the school year. Where there is subject overlap, we will advise you of this prior to you booking your child’s place.

All of our staff are dynamic subject specialists, with a good degree in a relevant subject (usually Mathematics) and a teaching qualification backed up with years of teaching experience.

At The Great Circle, we’re extremely passionate about all things maths and ensuring that children get off to a flying start with numbers. We believe Maths is all about confidence and understanding its relevance and application in the real world. Using it, applying it, talking about it, presenting ideas publicly; all help to build confidence.
